Vermont was the first state to introduce civil unions in July 2000, and the first state to introduce same-sex marriage by enacting a statute without being required to do so by a court decision. Same-sex marriage has been legally recognized in Vermont since September 1, 2009, and here at the Inn we have had the pleasure of celebrating many, many wonderful same-sex couples and weddings over the years. We are so happy about yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling for marriage equality in all 50 states!
Liz and Heidi had a beautiful wedding at the Inn last year, and you can see by this gorgeous photo what a great couple they are. Thank you to all the same-sex couples who have chosen to say “I do” at the Inn, surrounded by the support of their friends and families. We are thrilled that all people who decide to marry in America are finally now afforded the same rights under the law. All love is equal…and today LOVE WINS!
