I Do Barbecue

Food, Vermont, Weddings

One of the things that makes weddings at the Inn special is that couples often plan a full weekend affair, from rehearsal dinner to Sunday brunch. The Inn can accommodate up to 60 wedding guests – and we partner we several other local B&B’s – so the wedding gathering becomes like a mini-vacation for all your friends and family to really kick back and enjoy.

Caleb and Rachel started with their rehearsal dinner on Friday night out in our side yard next to the lily pond, facing a beautiful view of West Mountain, the labyrinth garden and our alpaca barn. We recently built an outdoor woodfired pizza oven which has been very popular for rehearsal dinners, but Caleb and Rachel went for a classic country BBQ, complete with these sweet red and white checked linens. We love this look for barbecues! Here’s a look at their mouthwatering menu:

Smoked Beef Brisket
Slow Braised Pork Ribs with Cherry BBQ Zinfandel Sauce
Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast
1st of the Season Local Tomatoes with Vermont Maple Brook Mozzarella
Anjali Farms Fresh Picked Greens with Maple Mustard Dressing
Locally Grown Corn on the Cob
Macaroni with Vermont Cabot and Consider Bardwell Farm Cheeses
Baked Beans Pam L. Ennis Maple Syrup

We often set up games like bacci ball, croquet or sandbags around the dinner tent. When the meal is over, festivities continue into the night as guests take a walk up near our wedding barn for a bonfire party with s’mores, drinks and sweets.

Rachel and Caleb’s I Do BBQ was a great evening, and an perfect example of how much more relaxing and special a wedding can be when you take the time to enjoy the whole weekend together.
